That's right. Even though my activity with this site was at a standstill shortly after I sponsored the $1000.00 Writing Contest, I'm still behind it. The $1000.00 Writing Contest is still on! I said I'd pay the prize, so I will. Don't mistake my previous inactivity as a sign that I've reneged.
However, I have quit promoting the Contest, and have made its offering less prevalent than before. The reason for this is that if a $1000 prize isn't enough incentive to lure writers here, then advertising isn't going to help much. All it takes is a few referrals and a critical mass (the 50 contest entries) could be reached in a week. For instance, if only two English classes participated in the Contest, the trigger for adjudicating entries and paying out the prize would be immediately triggered. But, the reality is that this site may not have the kind of content required to lure enough participants. Johnny, I sometimes believe, sits on the fence between trash and high literature, a place where few writers sit. Johnny is wandering in the dark.
But, with that said, the great glory of it all is that the World Wide Web and a good lawyer job provide all I need to publish my words and to offer you the chance to do so as well. We are in an age where writers no longer have to bow or cow to the hurdles of entering the published-on-paper world. Here, on Johnny's site, you can be published at will! Just post your story in the Forums!
